1852, 3¢ dull red, type II. Clear to large margins, tied by grid cancel on druggist corner card cover to Montgomery, Texas, red "New Orleans, La., Jan 21" cds and second larger New Orleans townmark dated June 28, clear "Too Late" boxed handstamp at top center, Very Fine and choice, a very rare domestic usage of the "Too Late" handstamp from New Orleans; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

Notations made by Carrol Chase on reverse of cover reads…"N.O. evidently has a weekly (?) mail to Texas, this letter missed it. Note two different postmarks a week (?) apart." and "The only town in the U.S. to use this postmark on domestic mail as far as I know.".
