Hawaii, Lahainaluna, Maui, Dec 24, 1834. Dateline on large lettersheet (10½ x 16½'') with printed Lahainaluna High School broadside with a listing of the Directors, Instructors and Students, letter written by one of the teachers, Rev. Ephraim W. Clark, to his brother in Peacham, Vt., cover with red "New London, Ct., Jul 1" cds and matching straight line "Ship" handstamp, manuscript "20¾" rate; cover front toning, some separation at folds which has been reinforced and portion of sheet missing at right affecting small portion of printed border of the broadside, Fine and very rare, one of the earliest printed Hawaiian lettersheets.
Estimate    $3,000 - 4,000.

This letter was carried aboard the whaler Don Quixote which left Maui on December 25 and arrived in New London, Ct. on July 1st, 1835 where this letter enter the mails on the same day.
