1847 (Dec. 16) Antwerp, Belgium to Boston, Mass., folded letter with Antwerp (12.16) cds with manuscript "15" centimes prepaid to Havre, Havre (12.22) backstamp, carried by Hérout & de Handel Line Missouri Havre Dec. 23 to New York arriving Jan. 18, red "New-York 'Ship 7cts' Jan 18" cds for 5¢ inland postage plus 2¢ ship fee, Very Fine, this is the only Hérout and de Handel Line cover recorded from Belgium to U.S. This was carried on last voyage of the line to New York.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Letter posted at Antwerp by forwarding agents, Brothers Nottebohm. Prepayment included 5 decimes to Belgium and 10 decimes to France.
