France, 1868, Napoleon III Laureate, 20c Milky Blue, Type II, Called "Lebaudy", Imperf, margins large to just clear at bottom right, tied by "1334" dotted lozenge handstamp on folded letter to Valenciennes, with matching "Douai, 24 Juil, 69" origin cds alongside; portion of cover around stamp removed and placed back in original position, F.-V.F. appearance, still a very rare usage of the 1868 20c imperforate issue on cover; signed Calves, Maury. Scott No. 33 var.
