South Arkansas, Col., May 26, ca. 1875-76 full clear cds on cover to Framingham, Mass., franked with manuscript canceled 1874, 3¢ green; small cover nick at bottom, Very Fine, this is the only recorded postmark from this post office.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

A territorial usage as the South Arkansas post office was established on April 22, 1868 and the name changed to Poncho Springs on March 13, 1877. This South Arkansas is often confused with the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad station of the same name, which became Salida.
