(Celebrity) Jenny Lind, three different embossed medallion portrait designs on five ladies covers; two different left facing designs, one type on plain and embossed border cover, all hand-colored, right facing design on two different style embossed border covers, one hand-colored, four franked with 1851, 3¢ dull red and one with a #26; few minor flaws, F.-V.F. overall.

On September 1st, 1850, operatic soprano Jenny Lind arrived in New York. The city and later the whole county went wild over her. Her Tour had been planned by P.T. Barnum and she was thoroughly "sold" to the American public. Shortly after a host of products bore her name and likeness including medals showing her profile. The embossed envelopes were model after these popular medallion keepsakes.
