Estimate    $300 - 400.

Interesting letter from an American working in Mexico and reads in part, "I consider the principles involved in the present election of more vital importance that in any election since we became a nation… I must say that the measures proposed by the party opposed to Henry Clay I consider frought with the most disastrous consequences to the country - It is sufficient objection to the Annexation of Texas, if no other exists, that it contains a considerable population who have formerly lived under the imbecile government of this country, which is a government of intrigue instead of a government of laws - where treason & rebellion is looked upon with complacency & where money will secure a man against punishment for the most atrocious crimes.".

Realized: $325
