THE EARLIEST RECORDED USE OF THE NEW PANAMA F1 REGISTRY LABEL.

In 1887, Colombia began issuing special stamps for use in the Department of Panama. They were needed because the silver peso that circulated there was not on par with the Colombian gold peso (and depreciated banknotes) that circulated in the rest of the country. The issue included a registration stamps, listed by Scott as Panama F1.
