1861 (Nov. 19) London, England to St. Paul, Minn., cover bearing G.B. 1d red and 6d purple tied together by two strikes of "6" circular grid cancels, red London (11.19.61) backstamp and black "3 /Cents" debit rating, carried by Allan Line North American from Liverpool Nov. 21st to Portland arriving Dec. 6th, scarce blue "Chicago Am. Pkt. '24' Dec 10" exchange due cds; minor repaired hole, still a Very Fine and scarce Chicago exchange use.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Cover was short paid 6 pence for the 24¢ treaty rate plus 1 pence prepaid for the 1d late fee. London treated letter as totally unpaid and debited the U.S. 3 pence.
