Mexico, (Chihuahua) Cosiguriachi, two-line postmark (YB CH50) and manuscript "Certificado a Cosiguriachi, Salio en 6 Octe. 1820" on colonial registered front to Presidio de Huajuqilla, manuscript Chihuahua Octubre 10 transit at bottom, bottom flap with "Resebi Barbara Vaeza" signature of recipient; some edge reinforcement, otherwise Very Fine, a unique colonial usage from this tiny town and the only recorded registered colonial cover addressed to a women. Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
Presidio de Huajuqilla was a remote military outpost during this period. This presidio became the town of Jimenez in 1828.
