1865 (Jul. 11) St. John's, Newfoundland to Sydney C.B., blue folded cover bearing Newfoundland 1857, 1d Venetian red (1), four margins, tied by mute 2nd cork type, red "St. John's - Newfoundland - Paid, JY 11, 1865" rimless cds, blue crayon "3" pence credit, North Sydney (7.4) arrival cds, choice and Extremely Fine, ex-Lichtenstein, Hart, Foxbridge.

The rate from port to port became 10¢, or 5d, with the introduction of the Cents currency on April 7th 1865. The first cents-stamps only appeared in November 1865. Of the seven surviving covers showing this provisional Cents-franking, this is the only one with a very fine four-margin stamp.
