Apr 1" cds on printed "Executive Mansion" official cover addressed to Louisville Ky., original "Executive Mansion, Washington D.C." letterhead enclosure datelined "Mch 31st 1874" and signed by "Levi P. Luckey" as President Grant's secretary; small edge tear, Very Fine; with 2014 P.F. certificate.

Original enclosed letter reads, "The President directs me to acknowledge the receipt of the very fine picture of his Father, which you were so good as to send him. The picture was received in good order; and he desires me to convey to you his sincere thanks, and assure you of his warm appreciation of your kindness.".
