1852 (Jul. 25) Rudolstadt, Germany to Reading Pa., cover with "Rudolstadt, 7 25" double-circle datestamp sent unpaid with red crayon "7" grote rating, Bremen (7.28) backstamp with matching large "7" grote debit handstamp to U.S., carried by Havre Line Franklin from Havre Aug. 4th to New York arriving Aug. 16th, partial strike of "New York '27' Aug 16" exchange debit cds, F.-V.F.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Bremen struck the large stylized "7" handstamp to show debit in Bremen currency (grote) to the U.S. Postage due comprised 20¢ American postage (5¢ inland plus 15¢ sea postage) and 7¢ German transit postage.
