1863 (Nov. 23) Beirut, Lebanon to Washington D.C., cover bearing Austria, 10s blue and four 15s bister singles, each tied by "Berutti, 23/11" cds, red crayon "50" credit, addressed to Hon. Joseph Holt, Judge Advocate General, red "Aachen 'Paid 23 Cts., 10/12" double-circle exchange cds, carried transatlantic by Inman Line Edinburgh from Queenstown Dec. 10 to New York arriving Dec. 23rd, red "N.York Am. Pkt, 1863, 24 Dec" exchange cds (scarce with year); stamps slightly affected by edge placement, otherwise Very Fine and scarce Austria used in Beirut use to the United States.
