Confederacy, 1863, 2¢ brown red, reunited strip of five (pair and strip of three) mounted on gray card stock, large margins except pair touched at bottom, cancelled by six strikes of "Army of Tenn" straightline army field cancel; flaws incl. small tone spot at bottom on joining stamps, Very Fine appearance.
Scott No. 8; $2,350+    Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.

THE ONLY RECORDED "ARMY OF TENN" STRAIGHTLINE CANCELS ON THE 2¢ BROWN RED.

Sometime in the past, the strip of five was removed from cover and cut into two and dispersed to different collectors. Conrad Bush discovered these at separate times and reunited them to its original form as described in a Confederate Philately Sep-Oct 2003 article.
