Danish West Indies, 1902 (Apr. 30) St. Thomas, D.W.I. to Montpelier Vt., cover with blind embossed "Kongeliege Postkontor, St. Thomas" flap and endorsed "Service", entered mails with bold "St. Thomas, 30/4, 1902" cds and bluish-purple "Dansk Vestindien, R" framed registry handstamp, reverse with New York (5.8) oval and Montpelier (5.9) arrival cds, letter is a reply to an inquiry concerning a stamp purchase, but unfortunately the stamps were not available and money order was returned previously, Very Fine and scarce official post office use. Estimate $200 - 300.
