New Zealand, 1864, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 2d blue, perf 12½, Large Star watermark, horizontal pair, used with 6d red brown (122), rich colors, each tied by bold numeral "05" barred oval, matching "Waikouaiti, Otago, FE-18, 66" origin backstamp on 1866 Grindley correspondence cover to London, England, endorsed "Via Marseilles" at bottom left, reverse with Dunedin (9.18) transit cds and London (11.12) arrival; abrasion spot bottom right, Very Fine and attractive. Scott No. 32. Campbell Paterson No. A2n (7).
