A RARE GEORGE S. PATTON SIGNATURE FROM ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS OF WWII GENERALS.

This was sent during the Lorraine Campaign when the Third Army under Patton exhausted fuel supplies. Patton believed his forces were close enough to the Siegfried Line that he remarked to Bradley that with 400,000 gallons of gasoline he could be in Germany within two days. With supplies low and priority given to Montgomery until the port of Antwerp could be opened, Patton remained frustrated at the lack of progress of his forces. From November 8 to December 15, his army advanced no more than 40 miles (64 km).

Realized: $600
