Wyllie" at bottom left with red "Honolulu, Hawaiian-Islands, May 10" foreign mail cds, endorsed "Paid" at top left, black "San Francisco, Cal. Jun 4, 1861" cds and light "Ship 6" due handstamp, red Royal Crown "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" wax flap seal, original ALS letter signed "R.C. Wyllie" on Official Royal Seal embossed stationery datelined "Rosebank, Oahi, 13 May 1861" letter concerning response to query of woman if related to her father was also a Wyllie, also original enclosed calling card "Mr. Robert C. Wyllie, Minister of Foreign Relations" and manuscript "& Secretary at War, Rosebank 13th May 1861"; cover tear and toning, F.-V.F. and rare Wyllie use with ALS letter and calling card.

Robert Crichton Wyllie (1798-1865) was a Scottish physician and businessman. He also served two decades as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Hawaii from 1845 to 1865.
