Bermuda, 1886, Queen Victoria, 2d blue, horizontal pair, in combination with 1880, Queen Victoria, ½d stone, two singles one with bottom margin plate no. "1" (19) on registered cover to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, 2d pair tied by misspelled "Inland Island, Ap 19, 87" cds and "3" barred duplex (Ireland Island) and ½d singles canceled by "6" barred oval handstamps, reverse with "Yarmouth, N.S., Ap 27, 87" receiving cds, blue crayon registered marks affecting a few stamps; cover with trivial stain and tiny tear at top, Very Fine. Scott No. 20.

AN EXTREMELY RARE REGISTERED MAIL USAGE TO NOVA SCOTIA WITH AN UNUSUAL COMBINATION OF CANCELLATIONS.

Postage of 5d comprises the 3d rate to Nova Scotia and the 2d registration fee. No registered handstamp had yet been issued. The misspelled Inland-Island duplex (Ireland Island) is accompanied by the K1 "6" handstamp, previously of Southampton West, used as a supplementary postmark for a short period.
