Hughes, Esq., General Agent, Atchison, Kansas" address, carried outside the mails, sender and recipient docketing; repaired corner tear at bottom left, F.-V.F., a very rare Overland Stage Line cover. Bela M. Hughes was an American lawyer, businessman, politician and Ben Holladay's cousin. He joined him in Weston, Missouri where Holladay started his first businesses. As a lawyer, represented Holladay in the takeover of Russell and Majors interests in the C. O. C. & P. P. Express.
