(Colorado) The Overland Stage Line (Office of), Ben Holladay, Proprietor, Denver City, Col. Ter., printed corner card with "Carrying the Great Through Mails from the Atlantic to the Pacific" endorsement, on internal company cover with printed "Bela M. Hughes, Esq., General Agent, Atchison, Kansas" address, carried outside the mails, sender and recipient docketing; repaired corner tear at bottom left, F.-V.F., a very rare Overland Stage Line cover.

Bela M. Hughes was an American lawyer, businessman, politician and Ben Holladay's cousin. He joined him in Weston, Missouri where Holladay started his first businesses. As a lawyer, represented Holladay in the takeover of Russell and Majors interests in the C. O. C. & P. P. Express.
