1860 (Aug. 4) New Orleans La. to Bremen, blue folded printed circular bearing 1¢ blue (24) vertical pair with wide left margin capturing "Toppan, Carpenter & Co. BANK NOTE" imprint, positions 31/41L8, tied by "New Orleans La. Aug 4, 1860" cds, New York red "PAID ALL" straightline handstamp, carried as endorsed by NGL Line Bremen from New York Aug. 4th to Bremerhaven arriving Aug. 19th, Extremely Fine, imprint multiples from Plate 8 are extremely scarce and very rare on cover, ex-Zoellner.

A CHOICE 1¢ 1857 ISSUE PLATE 8 IMPRINT CAPTURE PRINTED MATTER USE TO BREMEN.

Printed matter sent under the 1847 agreement could not be prepaid until April 1854, when the agreement was modified to permit newspapers carried by the Bremen steamers to be sent anywhere in the GAPU for 3¢. Newspapers (including circulars) sent directly to Bremen were only 2¢. New York marked such printed matter PAID ALL in red or black.
