"3" sgr debit rating, red "Franco Preuss: resp:Vereinsl:Ausg:Gr." two-line framed handstamp and red ms. As long as one full Prussian Closed Mail rate was paid, a letter would be sent paid to the GAPU border with the addressee responsible for any postage due. The two-line "Franco Preuss: resp:Vereinsl:Ausg:Gr." handstamp (Paid to Border of GAPU Member Prussia) was used on such mail until mid-1860, when a three-line handstamp superseded it. Goldach and Emmishofen were in Rayon I next to Germany, so actual postage due was only 3 kr or 10 rappen (2¢).
