1858 (c., Feb. 12) Cincinnati, Oh. to Eutingen, Württemberg via New York, buff wrapper bearing 3¢ dull red (26) vertical pair tied by blue circle grid cancels, New York red "Paid All" straightline also ties pair, carried by Glasgow & N.Y. Steamship Co. New York from New York Feb. 13th to Glasgow arriving Feb. 26th, partial strike of red Aachen (2.28) framed transit at right, reverse with Stuttgart (3.2.1858) transit and Mar. 3rd arrival cds, Very Fine and rare use at the 6¢ Prussian Closed Mail printed matter rate.

ONE OF ONLY THREE RECORDED 6¢ PRUSSIAN CLOSED MAIL WRAPPERS TO GERMANY.

Printed matter sent via Prussian Closed mail is rare. The rate was 6¢ for up to 2 oz., which was two or three-times the rates by other routes. The Glasgow & N.Y. Steamship was a substitute for the Collins Line, which had ceased operations in February.
