Cimarron, New Mexico, Oct 31, 1868, bold strike of double-circle datestamp with manuscript "Paid 3¢" rating on orange cover to Trinidad, Colorado Territory, original enclosed letter datelined "Cimarron New Mexico Nov. 1st 1868" from L.B. Maxwell enclosing a promissory note from Reynolds Paymaster of the Stage Company; some staining, F.-V.F. and exceedingly rare use from Cimarron.
