1848 (Jun. 7) New Orleans, La. to Winnenden, Wurttemberg, datelined folded letter with "New Orleans, La. Jun 7" cds and matching "Paid" straightline and slanted "10" rating handstamps, red "New-York, Jun 16" exchange backstamp and bold "24" debit handstamp; carried by Ocean Line Hermann from New York Jun. 20th to Bremerhaven arriving Jul. 6th; black "America/uber Bremen" exchange handstamp and red "10 1/3." debit handstamp; various manuscript postal ratings including Wurttemberg red crayon "1.f 13" (1fl. 22kr.) final due rating, Very Fine and scarce use under the Bremen Postal Treaty of 1847, Carried on the first of Five Voyages under the Bremen Postal Treaty of 1847.

The Hannover post in Bremen debited Hannover 9 gutegroschen, a restatement of the 24¢ U.S. debit. Hannover marked 10 1/3 ggr. debit to Thurn & Taxis Post, later marked as 45 kr. Thurn & Taxis Post added 24 kr. transit fee to Württemberg and wrote the total as "1/9" for 1 florin 9kr. Winnenden added 4kr delivery fee for final total due of "1f13" (1 florin 13 kr).
