1871 (Jan. 2) Paris to Prisoner of War in Germany, folded letter to Prisoner of War in Weisbaden, addressed to "Monsieur Le Général de Division L'Heriller", postmarked "Paris, Bt Malesherbes, 2 Janv. 71" double circle postmark and franked with 30c Empire Lauré tied by numeral "37" star cancel, small red boxed "P.D." handstamp applied to cover and crossed out as the cover was underpaid, two strikes of red "Affr. Insuff. / P37" handstamp applied, blue crayon Prussian tax "2" manuscript marking, Very Fine, a fine & unusual usage, carried by the Newton.
