A VERY RARE 2¢ BLACKJACK USAGE ALONG THE LONG ISLAND RAILROAD.

Cover addressed to Shelter Island located at the eastern end of Long Island. Convenience franked at 4 cents and carried on the line July 22nd circa 1865. If from New York the mail car left Hunters Point, Brooklyn at 8.00 a.m. to arrive at Greenport at 1.15 p.m. The 94 mile journey being run at an average speed of 18 mph.
