(Housatonic Railroad) Merwinsville, Housatonic R.R., May 20, station oval ties 3¢ dull red (26), top left corner torn off prior to use, on red & blue Flag Patriotic cover to Albion, N.Y., some edge wrinkles, F.-V.F. and attractive, a scarce railroad marking, particularly on a Patriotic cover, Rarity VII.
Towle No. 88-S-8a    Estimate $300 - 400.

Put onto Route 945 circa 1862 carried 42 miles south to Bridgeport for New York and then via Albany to Albion.
