Well centered single with bright color, tied by neat rosette cancel on 1867 orange cover to France with Pottsville, Pa. cds alongside, numerous markings including red & black New York cds's & boxed "Short Paid" handstamp, treated as fully unpaid, Extremely Fine and choice, a lovely cover, ex-Paliafito, Hill.

1861, 90¢ blue. Deep fresh color, tied with pair of 3¢ rose + 10¢ green by grid cancels on 1863 folded cover to China from New York, postmarked on reverse red "N. York Am. Pkt/Paid" cds with blue Hong Kong transit, sent via London with red transit cds & rate markings on face of cover, Extremely Fine and choice, a spectacular cover from the famous "Heard" Correspondence sent by British Mails via Marseille paying the double 53¢ rate, one of the finest known 90¢ covers, ex-Caspary; with 1992 P.F. certificate.
