(Colorado) Cripple Creek Colo., Oct. 25, 1894, dateline on illustrated lettersheet showing Panorama View of the Cripple Goldfield in Colorado; usual file folds, Very Fine.

Even though gold was discovered at Cripple Creek in 1878, the first claim was not staked until 1886, with the first production being in 1891.

Springs: 1898 Spaulding House, 1899 The New Alta Vista; 1899 Strater Hotel in Durango, 1892 Fariss Hotel and 1905 Hotel Maine in Pueblo, 1899 and 1900 Hotel Metropole (2 diff.) in Denver, 1887 Grand Union in Trinidau, 1888 Sunny Side House in Manitou Springs, 1880s and 1886 McClure House (2 diff.) in Canon City, 6 different The Antlers at Colorado Springs incl. 1880s with #210, etc., also includes 1881 cover with #207 and "Belmont Consolidated Mining Co. corner card;some faults, F.-V.F. and scarce group.

(Dakota Territory) "Greenwood D.T., Apl 6th 1864", neat manuscript postmark with matching cross-hatch canceling 3¢ rose (65) on orange cover to Mantorville Minn., excellent original enclosure from semi-literate soldier with a few wry observations: "Mr. Burleugh that is the indian agent I speak of thinks he has Stole money enough of the indians that he will be our next delegate to congress and I think he will be the best one we can send for he has the most money and in this country money makes the man…"; reduced at left, fresh and Very Fine, ex-David Jarrett.
