Forbes bearing 1¢ yellow (74) tied by bold "Honolulu. H.I. Jan 6, 1899"; faulty at left, Fine and scarce, The majority of known examples of this desirable design are faulty at left.

Itohan was a Japanese general merchant established in 1893 and was succeeded by Pacific Trading Co. in 1894.

Apr 20, 1896" duplex; stain spot, F.-V.F.

Hawaii, J.L.W Zumwalt, Kahului, Maui, H.I., printed corner on cover bearing 2¢ rose (81) tied by blue "Kahului, Maui, Jan 30 1900" cds (MH 255.01, R2), purple "Spreckelsville, Maui, Jan 1900" arrival cds (MH 282.011); some light toning, F.-V.F. and attractive with a choice Kahului cds.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

The Kahului 255.01 cds is scarce with known period of use from January 23, 1900 to February 1900 only. This is surely one of the finest known strikes.
