Colton was a small railroad station located south of the town of San Bernardino on the Union Pacific Railroad line. Two different types of hands stamps are known from this location. Both are unlisted in Leutzinger and both are considered unique.

Wells Fargo & Co., Paid 50 Cts., black surcharge on company frank, on 1853, 3¢ Nesbitt entire to San Francisco, cal., canceled by blue oval "Wells, Fargo & Co., Stockton" date stamp, Very Fine, a very rare example of the "Paid 50 Cts." surcharge, apparently a few of these were printed for carriage from remote mining areas in the Sierras out of Stockton, ex-Dale-Lichtenstein.Estimate $750 - 1,000.
