1861, 12¢ black, deep shade, used with 3¢ rose (65), tied together by circle of wedges fancy cancel, matching black "Boston '6' Oct 5" debit exchange cds on 1866 cover to Paris, France, endorsed "Per French steamer Ville de Paris of Sat. Oct. 6th from New York" at top left, clear strike of "Short Paid" handstamp, French paquebot (10.5.66) octagon dispatch datestamp and "16" decimes due handstamp; 3¢ few short perfs at bottom and light diagonal crease at lower left, a Very Fine use short paid due to weight, ex-Vogel.
Scott No. 69    Estimate $200 - 300.

This was carried aboard the French Line "Ville de Paris" that is a scarce route.

1862, 24¢ red lilac, tied by segmented circular grid cancel, red "New York Paid All, Feb 24" exchange cds on 1864 blue folded cover to London, England, carried as endorsed by Cunard Line China from New York Feb. 24th to Queenstown arriving Mar. 7th, red London Paid (3.8) arrival cds, Very Fine, ex-Skinner.

1861, 30¢ orange, radiant color, used with two 2¢ black (73) singles, tied by segmented cork cancels, matching "New London Con. Feb 19" double-circle datestamp on 1867 buff cover to Valparaiso, Chile, New York red "12" credit handstamp crossed out in blue crayon and update to "24" cents, "A, Panama MR 2 '67" transit cds, Chilean red "25" centavos inland postage due handstamp, sender's note on back reads "Mrs. Alsop & Co, Please deliver to Capt. Hinckley immediately if in port and if left forward to his port of destination and oblige, Respectfully A.F. Prentis", 30¢ small tear at lower left, a Very Fine use at the 34¢ rate to South America, ex-Friedman, DuPuy; with 2014 P.F. certificate.
