1867, 5¢ brown, F. grill, double grill, clearly showing two complete overlapping grill impressions, neat partial town and crossroads duplex cancel, attractively centered as most of these varieties are well off centered, beautiful deep rich color, F.-V.F., variety listed but unpriced in Scott in both used and unused condition; with 2020 P.S.E. certificate.
Scott No. 95 var.    Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.

ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE EXTREMELY RARE 1867 5¢ F. DOUBLE GRILL VARIETY.

A search for other examples of this variety, we find only two mint examples and five other used examples. All of these used examples have notable faults except one sound example that is very off centered.
