Japan, Collection, mint & used collection housed in 4 Lighthouse Hingeless Albums with slipcases, the 19th Century is sparse and mainly used, some better 20th Century is present, mixed hinged & never hinged, please inspect, frankly the replacement value of the albums alone is worth more than the estimation.

Japan, Post & Postal Card Collection, 1910-50's, approximately 100 cards and a few covers housed in Lighthouse album with some additional stamps */o including souvenir sheets; mostly commemorative usages from the 1940's on multicolored illustrated cards but does include earlier similar type cards with emperor portrait, some battleship and wartime themes, useful range of stamps and some stationery items worth checking, etc.; worth review.

Japan, Illustrated Postal Cards, 1898-1901, 36 cards virtually all used; nice array of illustrations mostly multicolored included a couple hand-drawn, most foreign destinations to Europe including Switzerland (couple uprated with Swiss franking), Germany and Austria, few with Japanese upratings, note Sumo wrestler vignette, etc.

Korea, Accumulation, hoard of mostly */o in stockcards and includes a nice range of covers, wide mix of material haphazardly presented from early first issues among the common forgeries of the period, strong showing of 1940-50's issues, nice showing of the later issues including various souvenir sheets, covers including FDC's starting from the 1940's, also a small hoard of North Korea issues mostly fairly modern; careful examination may prove rewarding.

Lot 2738 /o/   

Korea, Collection, 1946-70's, unassuming looking collection on pages in three-ring binder, a quick check of the stamps and souvenir sheets yields $3,600+ cat. value, most of which is in Scott #283a Second Postal Week souvenir sheet, 286a-291a souvenir sheet, two complete mint sets Korean War Flags 132-73, 154a-55a, C12-16 and C18-19 unlisted and unpriced presentation sheets etc., real highlight of the collection are 24 covers (1946-55) including 6 scarce military covers, including Korean APO covers, Korean Navy man to Korean civilian employee of the first Marine Div., red marking denotes military mail and was used on all letters to UN military units, Korean style envelope with military mail marking addressed to Korean Service Corps unit (Korean labor gangs attached to UN fighting outfits), five covers with various flag stamps, most mailed during Korean War, plus two different unusual "Free/Airmail/From/Korea" handstamp covers (one dated 1954 with letter enclosed), great group for the Korean specialist, worth inspection.
