Jul 11" cds on yellow cover to Barcelona, Spain, red "New York, Jul 16" exchange transit with red crayon "12" cent credit to G.B., additional red crayon ratings, Spain (7.30) arrival backstamp; cover soiling and wear, F.-V.F. and rare combination paying the 22¢ Belgian packet rate for 2nd progression (½ to 2/3 oz.).

Transit, Dec 5" exchange cds on 1872 cover to Hamburg, Germany prepaid at three-times the 7¢ Prussian Closed Mail rate, carried as endorsed by HAPAG Line Silesia from New York Dec. 6th to Plymouth arriving Dec. 16th, Hamburg (12.19) arrival backstamp; one 7¢ small tear, otherwise Very Fine and scarce triple-rate Prussian Closed Mail use.

Jan 14" on 3¢ green on fawn entire to Berne, Switzerland, red "New York, Paid All, Via Eng. & Oste., Jan 18" exchange cds also ties 7¢, reverse with Basel (1.31) transit and Bern (2.1) arrival cds, Very Fine and attractive use at the 10¢ treaty rate.

1870, 15¢ bright orange, N.B.N.C. printing, used with 7¢ vermilion (149), s.e. at right, canceled by corks duplexed with "Hingham Mass. Nov 1" cds which also ties 15¢ on 1872 tissue-paper cover to Calcutta, India, red "Boston, Paid, Nov 1" cds with bright red crayon "18" cent credit to G.B. rating, sender's directive "Via Marseilles" crossed out and changed to via Southampton, red London Paid (11.13) transit cds and matching "1d" Colonial credit handstamp, reverse with Sea Post Office (11.29) and red Calcutta (12.16) arrival cds, stamps with some toning and small faults, cover with usual light wear, Very Fine and unusual combination to pay the 22¢ rate via Southampton.

Bissell correspondence cover to Ahmednuggur, India, printed "Via Southampton" endorsement at bottom left, red London Paid (10.2.71) transit exchange cds and light red crayon "3" pence Colonial credit rating, reverse with "Sea Post Office" (10.22) transit oval and red Ammednuggur (11.4) arrival cds; lightly toned with some light water staining, left edge improved slightly, Very Fine appearance, a scarce use at three-times the 22¢ rate; with 1987 P.F. certificate.
