Hawaii, 1859, 2¢ light blue on bluish white, plate 3-A, type III, position 1, strong bold color, margins clear to just shaving frameline, tied by blue Lahaina Customs House negative sailing ship cancel (MH 303, R1) on fresh interisland cover addressed to Mrs. Ellen Goodale on Honolulu believed to have been sent by Lucy Goodale Thurston, top part of enclosure affixed to the inside of cover reading "Kaluao Lu (sic), Wed. evng., January 25, 1860"; cover with small clips at top corners, Very Fine, a very rare usage with approximately 20 on cover usage known bearing the 2¢ Blue Numeral issue, ex-Tows, Admiral Harris, Krug, Van Dyke, Golden & Steiner; with 2011 P.F. certificate.

Hawaii, 1859, 2¢ light blue on bluish white, plate 3-A, type V, position 5, full to large margins, tied by red "Postage Paid" in oval handstamp on large part of cover to "Na Lui Epikopo" at the Catholic Mission in Honolulu, carried on an inter-island schooner and canceled upon arrival at Honolulu; stamp has faint diagonal crease at bottom right, Very Fine appearance, ex-Aall and Twigg-Smith; with 1988 Holcombe and 2007 P.F. certificates.

A search of the various auctions and P.F. certificate search revealed only this sole unused example of this Numeral issue.
