L.I. Rail Road '5 Cts.' N.Y., strikes in black and red on covers, black pencil dated "June 21" on folded cover to Sag Harbor N.Y. (ex-Hahn); red ms. dated "May 21" on 1849 folded letter from Islip to New York City (ex-Gibson), F.-V.F. and scarce pair.

Although strikes of this railroad postmark are scarce in red, black strikes are exceptionally rare.
