During this period, Daniel Webster was a Senator from Massachusetts and Millard Fillmore was a Member of the House of Representatives from New York who later became the 13th U.S. President in 1850.

ARKPORT N.Y., small straightline and "JUN(E)/11" handstamps tie a fresh 3¢ rose (65) on cover to Grattan, Mich. (originally addressed to Cannonsburg, but changed by the sender), Very Fine. A rare Steuben County straightline, unlisted by Skinner & Eno.
