Great Britain, 1840, 1d black, "Rainbow" color trial, cancellation experiment, with voided corners, state 2, bottom sheet margin horizontal strip of four from the bottom row of the sheet of 12, on white wove (136x44mm), showing traces of blue cancels and a circular violet stain on third stamp, treated with hydrogen cyanide acid staining brown causing erosion hole in left pair, manuscript "Pr B, & CW" initialing (Prussian Blue and Common Wetting) by Joshua Bacon; light diagonal crease in right margin well away from designs, Very Fine.

Great Britain, 1852, 1d red brown, Treasury Roulette, plate 164, lettered T-G, neat barred "11" cancel, strong color, slight rubbing and faint crease at upper right not mentioned on certificate, F.-V.F. appearance, a very rare serpentine roulette variety; with 1988 B.P.A. certificate. S.G. Spec. Nos. B2a.
SG Nos. 8i    £5,000 ($5,950).

The Treasury Roulette was produced by a revolving cutter producing approximately four serpentine waves to the length of the stamp.
