Mexico, (Durango) Oro, bold red framed handstamp (YB D135) on 1828 folded letter from the director of the Mint to the governor in Durango, with choice strike of official Mint cachet handstamp, manuscript "3" rating, Very Fine, an extremely early example of this Oro handstamp, with Yag & Bash listing the earliest in 1845.

Mexico, (Durango) Oro, four different postmarks in red on separate folded letters to Durango; includes framed "D. Rl. El Oro" handstamp (D135), 3-line "Franqu, eado En, El Oro" handstamp (D136), and large & small "Mineral Del Oro" in oval handstamps (D137 & D138), each with similar matching "2" rate handstamp; the latter with archival tape staining, otherwise Very Fine.

Mexico, (Durango) Papasquiaro, green straight line postmark with matching light "3" rate handstamp on 1828 folded letter to Durango, F.-V.F., an extremely rare postmark unlisted in Yag & Bash and may well be the earliest postmark from Papasquiaro.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Yag & Bash lists a straight line postmark for Papasquiaro with usages between 1838 and 1854. This postmark is used ten year earlier and with letters that are completely different to the later postmark.
