Japan, 1895-96 Sino-Japanese War "1st-3rd" Taiwan Post Office, 3 items; 1896 Japan 1s postal card to a soldier in Tokyo with "First Taiwan Post Office, 29.4.6" cds (April 6, 1896) with return address "at Duanfang, Taiwan, Mixed Infantry 1st Regiment 10th Company", 1896 incoming cover from Japan to a soldier in Taiwan with "Second Taiwan Post Office 29.6.7" cds (Jun 7, 1896), franked with 2s New Koban tied by "Yamaguchi 29.5.30" cds (May 30), and 1895 cover from Japan to a soldier in Taiwan with "Third Taiwan Post Office 28.8.5" cds (August 5, 1895), franked with 2s New Koban tied by "Itsukaichi 28.7.19" cds (July 19); some opening reductions, Very Fine.

Japan, 1921-23 Field Post in Sakhalin Island, Russia (Sakhalin Expeditionary Force), two postal cards; 1921 postal card with Military Mail & Censor handstamps in vermilion, addressed to "Japanese Gunboat Shirinui, c/o Nikolsk (Siberia) Field Post Office" with "FPO 50, 10.6.24" cds (June 24, 1921), FPO 50 was located at Alexandrov with return address "at Alexandrov", and 1923 postal card with red "Military Mail" & "Censored" handstamps, addressed to "Japan Warship (IJNS) Chihaya" at Yokosuka, Japan, with "FPO 50, 12.1.23" cds (Jan. 23, 1923) and return address "Navy Defense Corps"; latter with crease and slight edge stain, otherwise Very Fine.

Japan, 1942 Japanese Navy on Kiska, Aleutian Islands, "Military Mail" postal card addressed to Kyoto, Japan, with red "Censored" boxed handstamp bearing vermilion censor chop, with return address "c/o Yokosuka Post Office U116 (Navy address code for Kiska Island), U151 Kamisaka Party"; some slight soiling and light corner crease, Very Fine, very rare, probably only a few exist.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

The Japan Navy occupied Kiska and Attu islands from June 7th, 1942 and lasted until the end of May 1943.
