Mexico, 1866-67, 10c-40c Emperor Maximilian "Postes" essays, group of 26 "Cent" Italian essays; includes reconstructed composite strip of 3 of 10c, 25c and 40c values in brown, red, black on yellow and scarlet, with a mix of other colors and denominations including many rare colors not often seen (including two values in metallic bronze), also includes similar ½r essay in blue, Very Fine, a very rare group.

Mexico, 1866, Emperor Maximilian (litho), 7c lilac gray, Ixtlahuaca, cons 9-1866, o.g., ample to large margins, small thins and vertical light crease, Very Fine appearance, an extremely rare issue from Ixtlahuaca, with only 140 sent, Follansbee notes only one unused example that was in the Chapman collection.
