Great Britain, Postal History Group, includes 16 early 1759-99 folded letters with various ratings, 1840 1d black usage London to Exeter and some later QV usages, 1916 WWI British Forces in Greece cover sent to California, and a Received From H.M. Ships postmarked cover to England which appear to have been submersed in water (crash cover?); interesting group (See website for images).

Great Britain, Collection, 1840-19, exceptional mint (and some VF used) collection neatly mounted on Scott pages (after 1889) with better earlies already broken out to numbered and priced stock cards. Assembled with quality-conscious collector, so the condition here is well above the norm, though a few early n.g., these counted at ½ mint values. Great Britain, Collection, 1840-1950, outstanding and valuable mainly used collection, with specialization for plates and shades, neatly arrayed in a Davo hingeless album. This rather attractive collection was assembled by a quality conscious German collector, and boasts many VF cleanly canceled examples, including S.O.N. cds's. There are platings of many QV issues starting with mainly VF penny blacks showing plates 1a and b, 2, 3, 5,6,9 (several with certs) and the rare and highly prized plate II with Royal cert as plate II (this one just a VG-F example, however), 2 penny blue with plate I deep full blue and plate 2, penny reds from black plates with plate 2, 9, 10, 11, 50 different imperf red plates, perf penny red plate 71-225, complete but for the rare 77 ½d engraved including plate 9 complete, followed by a nice showing of embossed and surface printed plates and shades with embossed 6d (4), 10d, and 1sh (4), extensive showing of plates for values to 1sh for surface printed with 1st 5sh plate 1 and 2 in nl and pale shade, 5sh blued paper p1 1 (perfin counted at ¼ nl), 5sh anchor watermark, XF clean oval DS, 1st 10sh and £1 present (latter nicely centered but with reddish crayon mark) 1883 blued paper 2sh6, 5sh, QV long pounds including watermarked orbs! Green with S.O.N. cds Belfast, also mint with specimen overprint (£1100), later QV and KEVII with extensive near complete array of shades to £1 showing 2 long pounds with clean small cds. KGV with impressive Seahorses including 10 different 10sh, shades 2 pound greens, many with certs and some nice cds's, also watermark sideways and lower values shades figured as cheapest. PUC pound VF also. There are a few officials and postage dues, the latter with some better mint including complete sets with n.h. high values. Quite a lovely group with SG cat over £133,0000 (about $170,000) (See website for images).

Great Britain, Collection, 1841-84, prodigious Queen Victoria used plating study mounted on lined or quadrille pages, starting with penny reds, ending with 1884 10 shilling. There are many sound, and many clearly canceled, mixed in with the faded and or heavily canceled with good prospects for postmarks (we noticed several used abroad items) and nothing has been checked for varieties like watermark errors and the like. Some numbers are represented by over a hundred examples, others with as few as 3. We note a penny red plating complete to #225 except for the rare 77; some higher out like 37 (7), 39 (24), 40 (9), 42 (9), 43 hundreds, 45 (20), 46 (5), 48 (14), 49 over a hundred, 52 (23), 55 (22 including 9 pale and at least 1 Prussian blue), 53 (14), 64 (47), 65(3), 69 (4), 70 (39), 71 (10), 73 (14), 87 (32), 94 (26), 95 (27), 96 (57 with shades), 99-105 dozens each 106 (7), 107 (32), 108 (31 with shades), 109 (9 with shades), 109a blued paper (a bit soiled); total cat by Scott over $371,000.
