1858, 5¢ brick red, type I, perfectly centered within large margins which are clear of design on all four sides, sharp early impression with fiery brick red color, light cancellation, Extremely Fine and choice; with 1989 P.F. & 2023 P.S.E. certificates, latter Graded (XF 90, SMQ $5,100), only six grade higher, all at "95".

A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 1857 5¢ BRICK RED. ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES IN EXISTENCE AND IN OUR OPINION SHOULD QUALIFY FOR THE GRADE OF "95".

1858, 5¢ brick red, type I, choice centering amid large margins with perforations well clear of design all around (and quite rare thus), brilliant true color, very light town cancel, Extremely Fine and choice, a gorgeous example in the true Brick Red shade, ex-V. Morris; with 1989 & 2007 P.F. certificates, the latter Graded (XF 90, SSV $4,750).
