1861-66 (1875 Re-issue), 2¢ black, o.g., lightly hinged, outstanding centering within large even margins, Post Office fresh color and sharp impression, Extremely Fine and choice; with 1997 P.F. & 2008 P.S.E. certificates, latter Graded (XF 90, SMQ $7,750), only six graded higher, all at "95".

A SUPERB GEM AND ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THIS RARE 1875 2¢ BLACK JACK RE-ISSUE. FRANKLY THIS LOOK MORE LIKE A "95" THAN A "90" TO US.

The 2¢ Black Jack Re-Issue can be found with margins, however the vast majority are off center. Very few of the original gum examples can be placed in the same class to which this stamp belongs.

1861-66 (1875 Re-issue), 5¢ brown, part o.g. (which is virtually full gum), wonderfully centered within large oversized margins, rich deep color enhancing an beautiful proof like impression, Extremely Fine and choice; with 1993 P.F. certificate.

A GORGEOUS NEAR PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THE 1875 5¢ BROWN, RE-ISSUE.

There were 10,000 stamps of the 5¢ Re-Issue printed (100 impressions from the new plate of 100). Only 672 of the 5¢ were issued with the remaining 9,328 destroyed on July 16, 1884.

1861-66 (1875 Re-issue), 12¢ black, o.g., hinged twice, perfect centering within huge even margins, fresh Post Office color, a Superb gem, only 389 were sold; with 1983 P.F. & 2010 P.S.E. certificates, the latter Graded (Superb 98, SMQ $18,000).

THIS IS THE FINEST KNOWN EXAMPLE OF THE 1875 12¢ BLACK RE-ISSUE. A REMARKABLE GEM THAT MUST BE SEEN TO FULLY APPRECIATE THIS OUTSTANDING BEAUTY.

This one of three examples of the 12¢ Re-Issue to receive the Grade Superb 98 by the P.S.E., with no others grading higher. We sold one of the two other known examples in our Sale #68 (Lot 113) and the Dr. Grassi copy is better centered and with larger margins.

1861-66 (1875 Re-Issue), 30¢ brownish orange, o.g., previously hinged, vibrant color, choice centering with perforations clear of design on all four sides, an Extremely Fine gem; with 1992 & 2007 P.F. certificates.

A BEAUTIFUL ORIGINAL GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 30¢ 1861 RE-ISSUE. ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT VALUES OF THE SERIES TO OBTAIN IN THIS OUTSTANDING CONDITION.

The 30c Re-Issue was printed from a plate of 200 subjects. 10,000 stamps were printed. Only 346 of the 30¢ were sold; the remaining 9,654 were destroyed on July 16, 1884.

AN OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 90¢ 1861 RE-ISSUE.

Only 317 examples of the 90¢ Re-Issue were sold; the remaining 9,683 were destroyed on July 16, 1884. The example offered here, with original-gum, sound and well-centered, is a great rarity.
