Confederacy, Brushy Creek (SC) May 18th 1861, manuscript postmark (Rarity 7) on cover to Claremont with no rate marking, franked with United States 1857, 3¢ dull red on reverse with manuscript cancel, manuscript pencil notation "The Flag inside", included is part original enclosure showing patriotic letterhead with the Palmetto Flag in blue, cover with bottom left corner missing, Fine and attractive.

Apr. 6" (1861) cds tying U.S. 1857, 3¢ dull red (26) on soldier's endorsed cover from Morris Island, F.-V.F. or better.
