U.S. Army Related Picture Post Cards, 1910-20, collection of over 190 cards focusing on U.S. Army views including many real-photo; various sections including a couple real-photo cards sent from Vera Cruz during occupation, section of border cards with many camp views, regiments, military parade, couple gruesome cards with of "Pile of the Dead" after 1913 Matamoros battle and real-photo "Burning the bodies of Bandits - Columbus, N.M.", also a section of military stations during the period, also includes souvenir pin and badge of the period.

World War I Covers, lot of 88 covers from World War I, which includes several postmarked by USS Buffalo and a number of covers on YMCA printed soldier's mail envelopes, numerous postal and censor markings, a great lot for the specialist, worth inspection.

United States Navy Postal History, 1935-1965, a huge collection of hundreds of covers and cards housed in many three ring binder, there are items from all branches of the military with additional ephemera and photos, all types of Naval vessels are represented with many colorful cachets with interesting image in many cases of the ships or some humorous propaganda, includes many Crosby cachets of both ships and airplanes, some military censor covers, several covers mailed on ships that were later sunk in WWII, a very good selection of covers from various Submarines, Aircraft Carriers and Destroyers, all with the ships cancels and much more, a very interesting holding with many interesting items throughout, please inspect.

Naval Cover Group, of a couple hundreds covers and some postcards; mostly 1930-50's usages with a mix of ship cancels including a run of 1930's U.S. Frigate Constitution, Navy Dept corner card covers, Crosby cachet, some censor items, etc.; worth a look.

Lot 2555    

N.P.O. & A.P.O.'s from Ascension Island Collection, 1942-46, one naval and 49 army postal service covers arranged on stockpages in binder; Naval usage sent from "Naval Detachment, Navy 316" which was the number allocated to Ascension, Army usages (A.P.O. 877) starting with April 1, 1942 First Day of Post Office opening cover, an array of later usages most either sent "Free" or with 6¢ Airmail, sent from various including 692 Signal Reporting Co., Co. M. 91st Inf. R, 1st Composite Sqdn., etc., includes V Mail usage, correspondence from 1st Air Base Det., postal card usage with interesting message, various censor and examiner's markings, some post war usages including penalty cover and Prexie usage, etc.; a scarce assembly and an ideal collection for the WWII specialist.
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.
