Railroad Cover Accumulation, 1838-1870, a selection of 18 covers, seven with adhesives, eleven are stampless, although a small grouping, many of the postmarks are well struck and crisp, markings included are Baltimore Railroad, Housatonic Railroad 5 in red, Long Island Railroad, Norwich & Worcester R.R., Pennsylvania Railroad, P & B RPO (Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore Railroad), U.C.S.V. R.R. (Utica, Chenango & Susquehanna Valley Railroad) and more, overall condition is quite nice, please inspect.

Patent Cancellation Collection, 1850-90's, a remarkable collection of hundreds of stamps as well as several hundred covers mostly arranged on pages in binders, the core of the collection formed by prominent philatelist Hubert Skinner which is held in six binders and annotated on pages arranged by classification types; includes Type A (parallel knife blades) with the Philadelphia, Pa. blade duplexes (patriotic and #63+65 usages) as well as other scarcer types from New Brunswick, N.J., Rome, N.Y., 5 blade from Canal Dover, O. and many others on cover, section of New York City patents from Type A on with various blade types, Type B (dash blades without guard) with usages from Youngsville, Pa. and Fall River, Mass. as well as "New Types" from Dundee, N.Y. (including worn/late use), Type C (dash blade with guard) with usages from 1861 to the 1870's, Type D (pins or blunt point without guard) with S-E PD-D 13 on a #1, on cover from the 1860's from Tom's Brook, Va., Red Hook, N.Y., Queechy, Vt., Sylvania, O. and many other into the Banknote period, large section of Type E (pins or blunt points with guard) mostly from the Banknote period, with a study of the circular "band aid" types used in various towns including Providence, R.I. and Boston, Mass., study segmented circular types on and off cover with on cover usages from Buffalo, N.Y., Baltimore, Md., Louisville, Ky., Chicago, Ill. (part of the blue fancy cancellations from this period) and many others, Type F (circular cutting devices) which include the 1860's duplex punches from Albany & Buffalo, N.Y. as well as Rochester, others including the Emporium, Pa. star and later Banknote era usages, Type G (punch types) with early usages including Hartford, Ct. "star" punch (one illustrated in Skinner-Eno, page 258), Auburn, N.Y. punch in grid and later Banknote era usages, Type H (misc. devices) including early blue grid (PN-H 1) on a #10, section of the Towland grid in grid cancels from 1860-70's (marked PN-H 18), off cover PN-H 17a, PN-H17b, PN-H 19 & PN-H 21 which appear to be the listing examples in Skinner-Eno, nice section of scarification cancels on and off cover mostly from the Banknote period, other sections of the collection include the rare Gaston date stamp patent cancels including on cover examples of the Cleveland, O. date stamp (6 known covers) and two examples of the Cincinnati, O. date stamp (4 known covers) as well as off cover strikes including Cincinnati double strike on 3¢ Banknote strip of 4 and on a 7¢ & 15¢ issue, negative "E" Beaumont slit patent cancel, the Douglas patent 8 hole punch on three unused Banknote issues, New York Douglas patent duplex postmarks, 158-E Massey double paper patent, New York Tilden machine duplex on and off cover, and much, much more; a wonderful collection of patent, patent-like and experimental cancellations and an ideal foundation for continuation, inspection a must to truly appreciate.
